Heard fresh today, all vz related

1) New Samsung Android device in q4. Apparently has 2ghz processor...sounds insanely off. I asked if he meant 1.2 ghz and he corrected me saying no, its definitely 2ghz.

2) all Android devices that do not bear the DROID logo will have BING. Only DROID phones will have Google Search etc.

3) HTC device coming soon, similar to Desire Z and MOTO Droid 2....called HTC Velocity, but ironically only has 800mhz processor, called "low end" Android device.

Only time will tell if these are true or not

I'm waiting until the holiday season to see what Verizon brings. Sounds like it could be a good time. Interesting no word on the Merge? Or is the "Velocity" somehow related to the rumor of the "Merge"? Or maybe it's the Velocity that we've seen pictures of since you state it's like the Droid 2.

I actually asked about a Merge type phone (HTC 4.3, 1.3 ghz) but he had nothing about that, thats how the Velocity talk came about. But he did mention that there are 14 devices hitting in Q4 and that the Merge could be one of them, he just didn't get a chance to see one yet. The 14 includes some tabs, not sure if the plural tense is meant but he did say some tablets.

The most disturbing part is the Bing vs Google search engines. I have a fascinate, which is going back, and I despise Bing.

Wow, that samsung phone sounds beast! Keep us updated! Do you know any news on the Motorola T2? The new rumored phone with Gingerbread and Tegra2 chips inside? It might be called the Venus is what rumors are currently saying..

Also, have you heard anything about an LTE phone coming in late Dec. at all? or is it still 2011?

He said the LTE phones will really ramp up and hit around April....he didn't day which types will be around but he did talk a bit about the possibility of iphone LTE launch during that april date. He went on to say the president is going to be a keynote speaker at some tech event in January, so he believes that is when vz will announce the device. Not sure if that is true or what event is in january.

Nothing on the T2, just HTC and Samsung. I'm really convinced so Im taking back the Fascinate this week.

That sucks about the 4.3 1.3 merge device I was looking forward to that really want to own a device with sense. But if they come out with that dual core samsung depending on screen size I might pick one up

i agree with #2 and #3 except for the name, but not 1. vzw will get a mid and entry sammy coming down the pipe, but not a 2 ghz. samsung wouldnt out class the galaxy s devices right out of the gate.

the 4.3" has been in the hands of qa. couple people you can follow on twitter that have used it.

no lte phones coming out this year. youll see data cards first and then phones to follow.

It sounds and looks more and more that #3 is really the Merge and not the Velocity (unless there's a name change).

I agree with both of you. A 2ghz processor seems too aggressive. What would battery life be like on that? But for some reason, I think it is coming. This guy was pretty excited about it. And he went on to say I should think about taking my Facinate back before the 30 days is up.

Just another quick thought on out classing the galaxy series. Could the Bogo deal out of the gate be proof of a new Sammy in Q4? The Droid 2 is already at end of life with all the new world D2s. And doesn't the Star Wars D2 or Droid Pro have a1.3 ghz processor? Just some random thoughts!

Maybe he got his phones mixed up. So the HTC is the Merge and the new Sammy is the Velocity since he is claiming its a 2ghz processor.That would make more sense.

I still hate the fact that all non-DROID based phones will be BINGed. That really saddens me.

So all I did was Google "2ghz Samsung phone" and a thousand links came up of this phone!

This phone was talked about back in July, I totally remember reading about it too. Here is one of the links:

Amen to that. I'm really hoping for the next HTC to be 4.3 with 1.3 ghz and sport the Droid name. Maybe the Droid Incredible HD as BGR rumored a few months agao??

I'm taking back my Fascinate this week, on my 2nd and still have problems, because I think its happening very soon.

dont think it will be because it wasnt an exclusive to verizon like the motorola's have all been, as well as the incredible and the eris.
