These "stupid" moves that VZ has been making lately are their way of saying "Please, take your money and your PITA and go to our competitor".
That's exactly what I think is happening. They're slowly taking away options and/or making it more difficult for customers who want unlimited data or unlockable bootloaders on their phones. What's next? Two separate versions of the next Nexus, one with an unlockable bootloader and one without?
Sooner or later, they will find some loophole that will allow them to take away unlimited data from those of us with grandfathered plans. I am sure of it.
I have a year and a half on my contract, Once my contract is over, I'm gonna see how things stand with Verizon. Right now, though, it's looking like Sprint will not be a bad option when my contract is over.
