The day I activated I had 4g. I've been in 1x pretty much since then. What gives? -98 dBm 1 Asu is my current status

Have you tried turning on airplane mode and then turning it off? Do you have enhanced calling activated (Voice over LTE)?

I just switched out if the global network it helped some! I went to the lte/cdma

You have to enable "Advanced Calling" or you will be stuck with the 1x for every call.
Beware that this will add the video camera icon to your dial pad. I don't like the video camera icon on my dial pad but it is what it is.

I would also stick with the global setting.

I have the advance on but without the global on I've had no issues. 3-4 bars and 4g vs global 1x and 1 bar.
