I use WiFi at home some, and at work some. The majority of my data usage when not on Wifi is streaming audio.

Starting to rethink my negative view of this data plan. looking a all of your data usage I'm now siding with big red that this is a good idea.

now hear me out before you start bashing. I like most others here avg about 1GB per month for my phone, and on my family plan 4 smart + I dumb phone (I pay for a line for my In-laws) I have never gone above 6GB (except vacation)

VZW's new plan would be a possible increase to my overall bill by 10 bucks per month and that still gives me a 2GB buffer.

Now part of the reason I have lower data usage is that I have internet at home with wifi which I pay another 50 bucks per month. most of the heavy user 8+GB have stated with their screen shots that they do not have wifi at home or work. So the question back at you is why shouldn't Big Red charge you for the convenience of being your cell phone, and home internet connection.

I don't think they or us ever dreamed we would use the amount of data we do, and the amount of time we would spend watching stupid videos on our phones. I know when I received my Moto Q and got the unlimited data back then I never dreamed of this. and now as a Droid X user who has ran more rom's (currently MIUI) then most have had cell phones I am in awe of what my phone can do.

There is a cost to everything and for you sucking up 8+ GB per month it's time to pay your way. Of course If you can upgrade and lock in another 2 years of unlimited then do it... Hey a contract is a contract.

Your entitled to your opinion Doug but I for one disagree with you. I feel like the tone of people who side with Verizon (as if this is some kinda fight) makes it sound as if we are abusing the service and thats just not the case. The feature indicates unlimited mobile data...doesn't matter where your at. It doesn't say, if your home its not unlimited, it doesn't say if you have wifi its not unlimited. Its just unlimited, so if you use 500 megs or 500 gigs its unlimited .

Make no mistake, Verizon isn't responding to some kind of crushing problem this growth of data use is having on its network....its responding to demand. Supply has nothing to do with it.

not too much of a data hog, but vzw's new plan might work for me, but if I should ever go over, that would suck. I'd stick with my unlimited plan.

I"m on a 700 min plan. Have unlimited data on my Gnex and a 3 Gig plan on my Xoom.
My main line has an upgrade now, but I'm holding onto it for a while. My Gnex is fine for now.

My average between my Gnex and Xoom is ~ 4 gig per month.

I hardly use WiFi, but will turn it on at home when I'm converted to the new plan. I will also drop service on my Xoom and use the "free" mobile-hot-spot on my phone for internet access when needed. This will save me $10.00 per month.

I'm really hoping VZW has a "double the data" sale with these new plans. If they do that I will probably jump on it and upgrade my phone, and give my Gnex to my son to replace his dumb phone.

IMO the new plans aren't that bad, but VZW is raping us on the data part. $50.00 for 1 GIG. They are CRAZY.

Double data sale would probably push most of those on the fence into the new Share Plans. At least me anyways. 20GB for 2 smartphones and a data card for $20 more is way better than only 10GB for $20 more. They're definitely going to need to try something to make them more appealing.

Abusing... No they are not sorry to sound that way. They currently have a contract and are operating within that.

Why I have paid the same amount for about 2 years now. The rate of increase to my bill is way less than inflation.
With this said I am locking in another 2 years at my current rates.
Soooo I'm still talking. And I still stand behind what I said. But hey if i was big red I would see this opportunity also.
