It's almost impossible to keep information from leaking. The more people who know, the more likely there's a leak. Tech support is not on a need to know basis.
I just cancelled my account with Verizon over the phone today (I had a MiFi device that I am not using), and I asked the rep after all was said and done if he knew when the Galaxy Nexus is going to be released. He said "I assure you that it will be out this month". I then asked about the double data promotion and how long that will last. He told me that it will last one month, and that I will be able to use it on my purchase of the Galaxy Nexus.
FWIW
Nothing new here, but I was just on the phone with tech support regarding my galaxy tab and just asked how the training for galaxy nexus is going over at verizon. He mentioned that many departments have been being trained on nexus and others will get it over the course of next *couple of* weeks. (Would this imply anything on the release date?.. hope not as training can be continued even after the release)
Didn't ask about the release date since they are definitely not going to mention it. How would you guys be more creative at throwing trick questions like that so they would naturally tell something they are not supposed to?
I was told that the 21st will be the release date for the Galaxy Nexus Prime at the Verizon store by a rep I know.
Well shows how much that rep knows its called galaxy nexus not galaxy nexus prime.
He actually called it both names. Also he told me that I can pre order for it in the store today but in their system it is no mention of it being 16GB or 32GB. So I did not want to take a chance and pre order and get the 16GB I want the 32GB.

Name the store location? There is no way in he!! they'd take preorders from walk in traffic without rolling out an email stating the upcoming info. to the people who signed up for the mailing list online, before making the official launch announcement. Seriously, they couldn't do it for the simple fact that the employeescan't process the order w/ incomplete info or pricing. Pre orders don't ship in house so that info. is a requisite before mailing.
Name the stores location? I don't buy it. Anyone else in this forum first words out of their mouth would be your second post in this thread. Not only that, it would be spread all over the place. Only place it popped up was about a month ago in their cellebrite system, for a brief period.
Calm down... If you knew anything about Preach, you would know he has a connection with a Verizon Wireless employee that works with unreleased phones.

I thought verizon was only getting the 32gb. I read that somewhere. Correct me if i'm wrong.
