vzw tech support

it has been proven on almost every thread i have been on for every phone i have been interested in regarding VZW tech support that they know less than us!!! i wouldn't even consider this as info!

"My son has been telling me about a phone exclusive to Verizon called the 'Galaxy Nexus'. Could you tell me more about it?... when's the expected release date?"

I'd expect to get a "before/after Thanksgiving" reply if I tried to call. I really do hope it gets released before Thanksgiving, though. I want to share zero shutter lag with my family and i*hone 4S friends.

It's almost impossible to keep information from leaking. The more people who know, the more likely there's a leak. Tech support is not on a need to know basis.

Why do you think verizon employees come to sites like these? because they are not given any info.

I just cancelled my account with Verizon over the phone today (I had a MiFi device that I am not using), and I asked the rep after all was said and done if he knew when the Galaxy Nexus is going to be released. He said "I assure you that it will be out this month". I then asked about the double data promotion and how long that will last. He told me that it will last one month, and that I will be able to use it on my purchase of the Galaxy Nexus.

FWIW

i expect that the part about being able to use the double data on the nexus to be true. they wouldn't want to deal with a bunch of people buying a 4g phone and returning it to get the nexus.

The one thing I paid close attention to was his tone and inflection. He was not lying to me. Now I wish I had asked him if it will be before Thanksgiving. Oh well...

Nothing new here, but I was just on the phone with tech support regarding my galaxy tab and just asked how the training for galaxy nexus is going over at verizon. He mentioned that many departments have been being trained on nexus and others will get it over the course of next *couple of* weeks. (Would this imply anything on the release date?.. hope not as training can be continued even after the release)

Didn't ask about the release date since they are definitely not going to mention it. How would you guys be more creative at throwing trick questions like that so they would naturally tell something they are not supposed to?

I was told that the 21st will be the release date for the Galaxy Nexus Prime at the Verizon store by a rep I know.

Well shows how much that rep knows its called galaxy nexus not galaxy nexus prime.

He actually called it both names. Also he told me that I can pre order for it in the store today but in their system it is no mention of it being 16GB or 32GB. So I did not want to take a chance and pre order and get the 16GB I want the 32GB.

I thought verizon was only getting the 32gb. I read that somewhere. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Name the stores location? I don't buy it. Anyone else in this forum first words out of their mouth would be your second post in this thread. Not only that, it would be spread all over the place. There's is no way in he!! they'd open up preorders from walk in traffic without rolling out an email of upcoming info. to the people who signed up for the mailing list online. Before making the official launch announcement. Seriously, they couldn't do it for the simple fact that the employees can't expedite the shipping order w/ incomplete info. Pre orders don't ship in house so that info. is a requisite. Anyhow, I doubt a retail salesperson would refer to it as the Prime. It was a pre production codename. Only place it popped up was about a month ago in their cellebrite system, for a brief period.

Calm down... If you knew anything about Preach, you would know he has a connection with a Verizon Wireless employee that works with unreleased phones.

I am still calling Garret today (local store manager) just in case this isn't BS. Gotta cover all the bases.

Don't care if he knows the Pope. I'm afraid, that story doesn't congeal to well with me and hearing that makes me doubt it even more. No one involved in the coordination of an unreleased device would refer to it as both names, they've been aware of it for awhile & certainly, has a good idea of what they'll be moving out, by the time retail employees get training materials/packets in the corp. stores.

1st if you don't believe then that sounds like a personal issue with you and Please watch the language. Check my past post before calling a person a liar. 2nd It was the store In Cary Towne Mall Verizon Store in NC. The rep showed me it in the system and said that I can pre-order it. That is when I ask him why isn't the GB listed he did not know. I ask him if I pre ordered it and it was a 16GB can I get my money back because I want 32GB. I was told that I will loose my pre-order money maybe one of you guys can tell me if this is true or not. If I am going to pay close to $300 for something I want what I pre-ordered.

P.S. Just a reminder to you also just in case you still think I am lying. If it is on the web site it is in Verizon's system...

People who follow the forums and have been around can vouch for Preach. I just wish I had an in like he did with VZW.
