Waiting for the Bionic, Preorder?

No I was only teasing about returning it for another phone. :) I just like the idea that if something did go wrong with the Bionic for whatever reason, or I find myself really truly hating it, that I have the option of returning it in 45 days. I mean 14 is probably long enough, but, if Best Buy Mobile gives me the option then I'd definitely get it there vs VZW.

And you can get the buyback program through best buy which to some is reason to buy it from there. And most of the time you know within 14 days what problems a phone has. But it is always nice to get a little longer.

I have no interest in the buy back program at all. However, if the price is the same and best buy offers me a longer return policy, why not go with them?

I'm going to preorder mine from Verizon's site. My OG Droid is giving up on me and I need a new phone bad, so there won't be a testing trial for me.

Don't feel bad. Mine's been having trouble finding GPS....AGAIN. I had this problem last summer and a new baseband fixed it. It's happening again now and I'm simply ready to call it good and get a new phone.

Wow that sucks man! My GPS is fine. Its just incredibly slow booting up, browsing the web and loading apps. And my wi fi won't connect to networks anymore, and when it does its slower than just using 3G? Hah I'm def ready for the bionic to be released already!!

I haven't had problems with bootup and wifi thank God. I'm running CM7 on it. That doesn't sound like a fun situation with yours, either! But, let's be honest....our Droids have served us well, yea? :) I mean, think back to when the Droid came out and what phones were available. The fact that we're almost 2 years later still using it and it's keeping up with the new "big boys" for the most part....that's amazing. Let's hope the Bionic has the same staying power!!

Just flashed a test build of Project Elite Gingerbread 2.3.4 and its running great.

Keep an eye out for it when it drops its well worth it.

Did you watch any of the hands on videos of the D3 CK? I saw some new ones posted this weekend. I can't really say why it's running smoother, but it just seems a lot smoother than the DX2. May not be the processor though. Whats your thought? Gingerbread, New Blur or Processor if you indeed agree it appears to be smoother.

So maybe it isn't a big deal if the Bionic is running Tegra 2 or OMAP??

I'm using and love CM7. I'm hoping to not keep the Droid all that much longer. :)

Maybe the newest version of blur is the reason I mean maybe they optimized it for dual cores with gb which is why the dx2 doesn't have that version of blur since it in on froyo. Or maybe optimized it for the omap processor?

Jasper can you post where you saw the D3 videos?

Moto's website has a ton of them. But if you want to see a Hands on Review by a non Moto person go to Youtube and checkout Droid3/Droid3 In Depth Review by Kanundrum, its 8 Min's 49 sec's long. I can not Link to it from work (youtube is blocked).

If only you had some kind of smart, portable internet enabled device to allow you to access things from work. :D (Sorry, I couldn't resist! LOL)

LOL, its kewl... :-[ My OG Droid started acting up sunday morning. When i go to a website i can not navigate on it, it jumps all over the place when i touch the screen, then phone locks up and i have to pull the battery (never had to do that before). I did a factory reset and it didnt fix the problem. Bionic can't come out soon enough, I got my OG on launch day and it has been a great phone, but it is slowly dying on me.

Oh man! Dislike!!! I love my Droid, as well, but, yes, these devices are getting a bit dated now. They've done so much for us though. Look at what's happened to the Android community since our trusty Droid was released. So, yes, we need to replace them and the Bionic really can't come out fast enough, but, the Droid will forever have a prominent place on the mantle for me. :)

The new blur is not bad at all, or maybe my D3 just has the horsepower for it. It's ridiculously smooth. It has some nifty features that my OG Droid never had.

I wouldn't worry about a bionic with 2.3 gingerblur, the D3 has no issues with it so it's safe to say the bionic won't either.

I also had no problem running a home replacement over it, in case you wanted to, but I like the launcher/app drawer. You can set the app drawer into groups and it stays on the group that you left it on. I created a group without the shovelware, live backgrounds and other never clicked icons.

I am not sure if that is new to this version of blur but it's nifty.

That's good to know as I use Launcher Pro.
