Wallet is requiring fingerprint verification

Pixel 6 pro.. 5th April security update.. Android 14.. since the update I am being asked for a fingerprint verification on every contactless transaction.. it is extremely annoying. Is it possible to switch this off and go back to the way it was..?

As far as I know, the only kind of payments you can turn off the verification for would be transit payments.

Nope. It's there for security reasons. Really though not a big deal for me. I unlock the phone just before I tap and go.

You can uninstall the current wallet and try an older version here, just don't let the Play Store automatically update it.
