wallpaper troubles

so i'm having some trouble finding a wallpaper that i like and that fits the size criteria for the lock screen and home screen. i have tons of photos that i have downloaded or taken with my camera but it only allows me to use that tiny middle piece. how can i adjust the photos to use them in their entirety or what can i do to remedy the resize-ing issue? help! :'(
