Warm phone

Anybody else's phone get warmer than normal? My phone started doing this today, by just browsing the internet, or being on Instagram. I never noticed it with my so plus, it always ran cool. It's so annoying because It makes it uncomfortable to hold after a while.

First instance for me was playing NASCAR Heat. The phone got fairly warm & I wasn't that impressed with the game so I happily uninstalled it.

Also, OP you're still within warranty so try calling Samsung until you can get it repaired or replaced. You can also try going to best buy and explaining the issue since you haven't already.

Well she mentioned getting warm while browsing... not even playing fort nite or heavy video but just web browsing... to the point too warm to hold? That sounds above normal.

It was timely so I let her read and make the call while she had time. But then I missed later she’s beyond return time (odd thought it’d be 30 days but oh well). People close to their 30 days with issue like this and hard to pinpoint, I’d probably eat the restock and buy again later than be stuck later if it really is something.

This wouldn't be an appropriate article to link because of two reasons
1. This investigation is ongoing
2. It's not a widespread note 9 issue

I ended up keeping it, what I did was I cleared the cache. It hasn't gotten hot anymore, not sure if it was an app misbehaving in the background. Im glad, I didn't want to go through the whole exchanging, and set up of a new phone.

I'm glad your phone isn't overheating anymore. I was going to mention that if it is too uncomfortable to hold due to the phone heating up, that is not good for the phone and more importantly, not safe for you. But if it's not warm anymore, then it's all good! :) Glad you got it sorted out!

I had a Blackberry DTEK60 that a) got hot b) battery drain and trouble holding charge. Luckily a full factory reset worked. I was worrying and bought a 2nd unit as backup and testing.

My iPhone X tends to get very warm when using, no case and resting on bare skin.

My Note 9 stays cool as cucumber, as does my Essential phone.

My phone is started to get hot again!! Always on the left side. I'm not sure what to do now that my return period is over.

While the return period may be over, the phone should still be under warranty. If you keep having issues, might be time to contact Samsung directly. You can BET they will take this sort of issue very seriously based on the whole Note 7 debacle!
