If I get a replacement phone from Verizon, does that reset my warranty date to the date I receive the replacement phone?

No, you would keep the remainder of the 1 year warranty on the original phone or 90 days, whichever is greater. If you have the extended warranty or TEC, then you are covered until you cancel it

So with extended warranty coverage, do you pay a deductible?

In my state, Verizon doesn't offer the extended warranty, everything is through asurion. I am not sure what that means for the deductible.

No deductible for extended warranty. Asurion is insurance and covers accidental damage and loss and has a deductible. It does not cover mechanical failure like warranty

You can also buy coverage from from best buy, square trade, apple care, or other source.

Warranty replacements are usually remanufactured phones, BUT for some reason if they send you a brand new one with retail packaging, your warranty resets. Every brand new device has full manufacturer warranty.

In Florida, Verizon won't provided the extended warranty. Why, I don't know, but they don't. I just checked with Asurion, and they do provide the extended warranty for Florida customers, but the deductible is still $100.

So I think in the future, I will buy my devices from Best Buy and go with their plan. It seems like the best deal.

Best Buy has no deductible and no claim limit , just beware that it doesn't cover loss or theft
