Warranty question (for those who are not original owners)

Quick warranty question here, specifically for those who have purchased the device from anywhere aside from the Play Store.

As anyone actually had the device replaced or serviced? Just a generic question. I believe Google is pretty strict on their warranties, just thought I'd see if any around had any luck, or what any of you have done that have been denied assistance from Google.

If you can't contact your owner. I did the same with an HTC and their authorized repairers (sub contractors) would only touch Aus ones so I had to send mine to HK for the seller to get repaired by their official repairer. Sure Lg would be similar.

That's about what I figured. I suppose I'll end up adding that Square Trade insurance if need be then.
