Due to multiply issues with my rezound since updating to ICS Verizon is sending me a new/refurbished my question is will this new device be updated with ICS or still have GB installed? I'm hoping its GB because my ICS experience has been horrible, with many of the problems others have mentioned.

Hopefully, the slight annoyance of periodic suggestions to update my phone greatly outway the disaster that my phone currently is..

The last 2 replacements I got in the past 7 days (don't ask) both came with GB. You have to manually updated to ICS

Why did you have to replace your phones? Did you have issues with GB, or did the problems happen after updates? Thanks for the responses.

ICS is solid if you wipe. Here is my suggestion. Get the phone, turn it on, boot into gb but do not set anything up. Do the otas and shut down. Go into the bootloader and do a factory reset, then start it back up and set your phone up as you normally would.

ICS should not have been an ota, it should have been Odin only

My warranty replacement came 8/29 with ICS and so far is working flawlessly. Biggest irritation is resetting up the phone but my backup pro installed my 174 apps flawlessly with the unavoidable irritation of having to setup a lot of apps individually after starting them up.

For the earlier poster, the reason I needed a warranty replacement was that the four capacative buttons suddenly stopped working on my original rezound. The phone still worked perfectly as long as you control whatever you were trying to do from the touch screen, but once you got to a point where you needed the back button (for example closing a picture) your only way out was to reboot the phone.

Be wary of installing apps in bulk... most apps need to be run once to set themselves up, even if you don't need to do anything with it, some apps will also maintain the CPU wake until they are setup causing your battery to drain like fruit in a juicer until it is completely setup (TweetCaster is/was one example of this), so make sure you run EVERY app you install, just in case it needs something, so it can finish it's installation.

Exactly! With this last Rezound I added each app One at a time and ran it before proceeding to the next. Phone works great! Well, it did. I went back to my iPhone, just use this on WiFi while iPhone recharges. But no problems yet!

I swapped out my first Rez within the 30 days at the time because of a poorly functioning back button..wonder if this is a relatively common issue. Even with this one it seems like its been less sensitive than the other 3 capacitive buttons but considering that's pretty much my only concern I just let it slide.
