Warranty update

Still waiting on my phone.

Samsung received it on the 7th of july. They didnt open until the 13th. and the notes say is which is below. The last note is is bs. I bought a staples cell phone box for repairs. I called on Saturday the 16 Jul the rep said my phone would be shipped out sat or sunday. Called today and another rep said there is 9 to 11 day turn around. The repair time has increased each time i called from 3 to 5. 5 to 7. now 9 to 11. Wondering if anyone else has got any good news.

Was told early today your phone is being repaired and should be sent to the final phase this afternoon. Should be shipped out today or tomorrow. So called later in the day to see if it passed the finally phase. Now the phone is supposedly awaiting parts. So looking at another 3 to 5 days.

I'm so pissed
 
way to long...in looking for an upside I hope they are ensuring that it will be up to specs when they roll it out. It would be nice if they did something in return for the long delay. Please keep us posted.
 
I really don't understand why they don't just send him a new one already. Who cares if there's a part pending? Just send him a new one don't make the customer wait this long. This is ridiculous. Especially since they're coming clean as to the whole issue already.

Well it's awaiting parts. If it doesn't past the next quality check. It will be replaced. I asked why wasn't it being replaced because it was water damaged they said it has to be repaired first.

I have recently bought a moto x pure edition.
 
I hate to be the "negative Nancy" on this subject, but I'm not surprised one bit that the LDI is pink. They won't replace it because once a device is exposed to water that is their only way of knowing the internals got wet, for the life of the device. Obviously, this becomes an issue when sending it in again for warranty service or even more so, reselling the device.

When I received my S6 Active back from having the screen replaced, I experienced water damage. I found a S6 Active "teardown" video on YouTube showing how the screen is disassembled. What they do is heat up the front of the device so the adhesive loosens the screen. I imagine the reverse process for resealing the device is to apply more adhesive or reheat the existing adhesive again to soften it.

I am convinced that these devices were never intended to be opened which ,to me, is why 1. Parts are limited 2.There is no Samsung Protection Plus 3. Their original warranty did not cover water damage. Furthermore, what kind of QA testing can they do on a waterproof phone? If it works again, then it passes? IF they were placing them in water each time they repaired, they'd probably waste parts.

I'm not an expert on this matter, and I don't work at the repair center, but I have a strong feeling that the Active line of devices are very difficult to repair and make IP68 compliant after repair.

I wouldn't think it'd just be the Actives. All the Galaxy line is IP68 rated. I can't imagine those finicky glass bits on the Edge and regular Galaxy being easy to deal with...
