Was I sold a used phone?

I bought my phone Dec 23rd. I noticed in the status area it shows "last factory data reset Nov 8th". Does that mean someone else had this phone and it was returned, or is that something different?

If you bought it from them then it was new -- it would be illegal to sell you a used phone marked as new.

There is a good chance that November 8th was the date Android was first installed on your phone during the manufacturing process.

I bought my Z Force mid October. I believe that it had a last FDR of early October. I would certainly hope that no one is ever sold a used or refurbished phone, when expecting a brand-new device. At least, not unless told so in advance.
