Was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 a target of Industrial Sabotage?

I wouldn't be surprised if after the dust settles there is evidence of something being cooked up. Apple's slipping market share would be my best guess... not saying it did happen this way, but I just wouldn't be surprised.

Doesn't necessarily have to be Apple or another competitor. Could be a disgruntled employee or someone paid off by a certain state government.

And where is an insider threat (with facts) for this "Samsung Sabotage" theory? There isn't any -- that is the theory I am talking about. Hence why I said not going to engage in random theories with no facts.

No facts, but if you do some reading, it will make sense.

No, just poor quality control. This fiasco falls squarely on Samsung.
Or maybe poor design. What bothered me about the first recall was how quickly the CPSC decided that Samsung's position that only batteries manufacturered by one vendor were faulty and the source of the fires.

I wonder now if we will ever know what really happened.

This is not an investigative endeavor. I'm just wondering if others are asking this question. How does a company like Samsung that has done so many different models of phones, computers and tablets have this kind of battery problem?

And the timing seems almost impossibly too good to be true. Google launches its first foray as an independent smartphone manufacturer while simultaneously the largest Android smartphone maker crash and burns. If it's a timing coincidence it is the biggest ever in smartphones. Seems too unlikely. Anyone else thought this?

It's not impossible. But it's more likely to not be sabotage.

All random dots can be connected by anybody with a pencil.

It will be a theory with no factual backing -- Just like you didn't accept fire stories without facts why can I not accept random theories people are "putting together"?

Fair enough, but this habit of looking down upon posters who question reports or offer alternative theories should stop. It's toxic.

Wow, thought I closed this. My fault. Yeah, we're not a place devoted to spreading misinformation and FUD. Thanks everyone!

I would hope now that the N7 has been put to rest, Samsung gets to the bottom of its issue to ensure this does not happen again.
