Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?

Where did it crack at? The left side? I have read 2 or 3 others having it crack. One person noticed it when woke up in the morning after setting it on nightstand. Another said they just walked to the car, put in on the seat then thought there was a hair on it, but it was a crack. Posts are around here or there somewhere.

Mine cracked on the top right corner. Amazingly i managed to get it to work again. There's an interesting video named "Nexus 7 torture test". It is worth watching, just google that title to locate it. If anything send me a PM and I'll send the link which i saved somewhere on my history folder.

I bought my phone at Walmart because I didn't want to take a chance getting a defected item and go through the hassle of returning something online. So fortunately its been really great for about 2 days now.

About two days after I got my 8gb the screen would be cloudy when I turned it on and it was ghosting bad but would become better the longer the screen was on. I finally got my replacement today and no problems so far, let's hope it stays that way. Took about 10 days to get the replacement.

Works great. I have been setting up systems and handing them over to small businesses. Revolutionary

Got a 16G version today at Staples in Calgary, Canada (C80 series). They have it on sale for $233. The one they had on display had a minor screen lift on the left side and a creaking noise when you press down on it. I showed it to the sales person and asked if I could examine mine first before buying it. He let me look it over and it was perfect. I have no screen bleed issue either. I'm really happy with it. I played with the Samsung tablets and they are so laggy. I love my N7.

16 GB 1 week old; C80 series. None of the issues that have been reported. Unlocked and rooted unit looks and performs as advertised. Tested extensively (I'm a gadget enthusiast and have been in the technology business for over 25 years).

My first Nexus 7 that I pre-ordered from Google had significant screen lift/sponginess/creaking on the left side.

The replacement had no screen lift, but had a badly blown speaker (and one out-of-the-way dead pixel).

The replacement for that one seems to be pretty good after a month of use. It recently started to creak on the right side if I'm holding and slightly squeezing it on that side. No screen lift is associated with this, though, so it's not a problem. In fact, it kind of gives it a little character!

I love my Nexus 7, but hope the next version has better build quality and QA, even if that means paying a little more.

16 GB C70 purchased 8-21 from local Office Depot screen lift on left side - noticeable, but not horrible

At first I would notice and hand the N7 to my husband who would act like I was crazy - eventually we realized that when you press, it temporarily glues itself down.
