I moved my watch over to my s10+ from and S7 which was a faff. I couldn't get spotify back on until I found where my download history was. I then noticed the watch wasn't updating step etc to the phone.

I just decided to reset the watch and re pair and start from scratch. I deleted the galaxy wear app and it offered to delete galaxy watch plugin and Samsung accessory service as they are linked. These 2 extra apps I cannot put back on my s10. I found galaxy watch plugin but on google store it says not compatible with any of my devices. These 2 apps are still on my s7.

Now the watch won't pair with my s10. It just stays on the finishing pairing page. I tried with my s7 and it pared fine.

What do I need to do to get it working with s10?

OMG that was joke. I got it working in the end. It seems the extra apps get reinstalled anyway. I think the app on the s10 was cancelling the app permission requests before I had a chance to click allow.

Glad you got it working!

Did you restore the watch from s backup that you made with your S7? Or did you set the watch up from scratch?

I'm asking because I got the S10+ and I can't get the restore in the Gear app to restore my apps and configuration settings from the backup I made when the Galaxy Watch was connected to my S9+.

I tried to back the watch up to my s7 but it was taking ages making me think it had stalled so gave up. When pairing to the s10 yesterday the option to restore the watch came up so I did. It didn't fully restore and then I had a time trying to get spotify back on. Today I noticed it wasn't properly connect to the s10 (steps weren't updating on the phone etc) so I thought I would do a reset. Then it just wouldn't pair again so I uninstalled the galaxy wear app and reset the watch again. After this it still wouldn't pair. When trying again as I was about to allow something the app interrupted so I thought to go into the 3 galaxy wear apps I mentioned an allow all permissions. After this it paired fine. What a faff.

I didn't bother to restore this time and so far it seems to be working ok.

Wow! What a PIA!

This whole process of switching the phone that the watch connects to should be a lot smoother!

I'm really disappointed that the backup and restore didn't work for me. I'll probably end up seeing it up manually again myself!

Thanks for the response.

Restoring, especially if you have a lot of watch faces, can seem to take forever. It requires lots of patience. I have had it take ten minutes and have had it take 45 minutes.

I was getting worried cause I ordered the S10+. Good to hear that things are working out now.
