Water might have killed my Z3

Flaps was closed. But it doesn't mean that its a bad one.
Condensation can happen to $+10k dollar lenses that are weather sealed.

Condensation is moisture, water. I install high end skylights and windows for a living. If they condensate after I install them and after people pay thousands of dollars, I'd be in real hot water (no pun). Means they are not sealed correctly. There is a failure in your phone of some kind. Remember they are certified water AND dust proof. No water or AIR should be flowing when sealed.

That's my point. Even weather sealed "real" cameras has this problem.
It's just something one has to work around.
Not only does it need to be air tight, the air inside needs to be 100% dry or vacuum. And I doubt they would fix that. How do you do that on the windows?

I to have worked with installation of windows btw, but on cars and busses.

Yeah good point. Opening the flaps alone will allow some level of moisture in. Seems weird though I'd definitely find out what Sony says. The Windows are sealed from the manufacturer.

UPDATE:
After a few days I could start the phone again and after a few more days of letting it sit upside-down it has dried.
I noticed that the flash dried first, that's why I had it upside down.

Sony told me to send it in but couldn't promise that they would fix it.

So I'm just gonna let it be and consider it water-resistant instead of waterproof.

My Z3 Tablet only 4 days old leaked in bath and died, wasn't even submerged just used with wet hand's. Port covers fully closed and no signs of any wet behind the when I checked. Tablet worked for an hour after then said shutting down due to heat then I noticed steamed up camera lenses.

Wet hands shouldn't be enough water to kill a device. Even non water proof phones can handle wet hands. Try drying it out in rice or something. Good luck.

You are comparing apple to orange. A skylight won't have any moisture inside because it is filled with gas with no moisture first and then permanently sealed. Z3 is NOT permanently sealed. It is only sealed when all the port covers are closed. The moment you open any of the port covers moisture can and will get into the phone. This is completely normal. Now if you close those ports and put the phone in cold water then the moisture inside the phone will condense on the cold glass.

Like others have mentioned, this is a very common issue if you have used a diving camera. Even camera enclosures that cost several thousand dollars all have this problem.

This recently has happened to my z3 the screen stays blank but i can feel the vibrations and can hear the sound when i get a message, not sure what to do, how many days did you leave it for until it could turn on?

today i put my z3 under sea water and then after i put in the water it works but after that it's not making any thing :'( **** this **** i don't k now what is the problem of this **** i think they say it's resistance for the water and the dust what a shame i don't what is the **** with that

"The ports must not have been properly sealed."

This is Sony's favorite line when they don't feel like backing their "waterproof" phones. Many people have had their phones leak, even with the flaps securely and properly closed. OP indicates his ports were fully/properly sealed, and I had the same problem with mine, also with the ports fully/properly sealed. OP was more fortunate than I was, because my vibrator motor has stopped completely and apps are crashing randomly now, as well as overheating when attempting anything with the camera. The water on the camera lens did finally dissipate, but the rest of the problems are still there.

Sony never promises anything 2 1/2 weeks old mine has system issues and t mobile lol no help there all I can say is sony xperia series sucks to the core
