We need a screen protector shootout.

When I got my Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic, it was obviously too small for the screen (about 5mm short in both width and height). I emailed SGP and eventually sent them these pictures. They contacted me yesterday and said they would replace them. When I asked about the size issue, I was told it was a defect (I assume they were cut wrong) and that the new ones would fit. I should get them later this week. I'll keep you posted.

I don't know, mine came like that and it specifically says it's cut shorter due to the curved screen. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent you new ones in the exact same size, unless they upgraded you to their Flex series.

I thought about that, too, and specifically asked about the size of the replacement. They assured me it would fit. We shall see. If the new one doesn't fit any better, I'll be looking elsewhere.

I just sent an email off to them, we'll see what they say.

I went with an armor suit screen shield off of Amazon, < $10..same thing as the invisible shield by Zagg. I love it, the solution evaporates through the shield after 24 hours leaving it perfectly flush with the screen. I also have one on my galaxy tab 10.1. Great product.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I've loved SGP products for awhile, but this one leaves me looking for a new protector. The screen looks great and feels great...but I HATE the area that isn't covered. Plus it covers the front facing camera, which is kind of pointless. I'm currently looking for a protector that actually covers the whole screen and has a hole for the camera. And I'm hoping SGP comes out with some updated ones that work a little better, because the film itself really is nice.

***I'm also not sure how the screen being slightly curved means they can't make a protector that covers the whole screen.

The edges on the top and bottom won't adhere properly because of the curve. I had a Nexus S, and all of the dry screenprotectors would peel up and not adhere on the top and bottom.

IMO screen protectors are sort of like cassette tapes, something who's time has passed away. I used to use Seidio hard plastic ones, but that was on a BB. The glass on these is so tough I don't think they are needed anymore on these modern smartphones. Only the companies benefit, not us.

I could not have agreed more until i found two faint scratches on my Nexus. I agree the glass is hard but still able to be scratched.

My skinomi covers the whole screen and has cut outs for camera, the two sensors and earpiece (duh). It feels like there isn't anything on it either. Love skinomis.

You win, Terry. The 'replacement' they sent was exactly the same. I have already requested a refund. Time to start the search again.

Are you using the dry or wet version?

You know...with the most anticipated and popular Android phone out right now, you would think that there would be a million great options to choose from. But I've already gone through $40 in screen protectors and haven't found one that I REALLY like. I did just order the SGP Flex, so we'll see. It is a wet application, and I've never had one of those, so it's going to be a learning process I have a feeling.

Sounds to me like because of the shape you had better go wet. I've used a few of those, and they're "OK". I think you always get some tiny bubbles, and they tend to smudge. The hard plastic ones are harder to get on perfectly straight but they don't smudge as bad.

I installed an XO Skin tonight and so far it looks as good as I expected. Installation was pretty easy except i expected it to set faster than it actually did. It actually was nice that it allowed me to adjust it a bit and got it placed and let it set. I used a hair dryer on cool for about five minutes and now will let it sit for the 2 hours and try to resist turning it on until after 12 hours.

If you can get past it being cut a little short (not noticable on the top or bottom but it covers just the screen portion side to side) the sgp ultra oleophobic is my favorite. I have tried the verizon anti-glare, XO skin, and now this one. It feels like glass, doesn't dull the screen, and it doesn't get finger prints like crazy.

I bought the SGP Flex Series for mine. It was a toss up between the Ultra Oleophobic and the Flex Series, but I'm really pleased with the Flex. Minimal (almost zero) orange peel effect. I am a huge fan of SGP and will be purchasing all my screen protectors from them in the future.

I bought and used the VZW's Anti-glare, SGP Flex Series and now the XO Skins. Like others have mentioned, the anti-glare definitely takes away from the screen beauty. Although SGP is my favorite company for screen protectors (specifically the Matte style), the Flex was not the best with handling finger-prints. In my experience, it didn't reduce them in any way. Other than that, it was great with touch sensitivity and screen looked beautiful despite a little bit of orange peel affect. Trying XO skin now and it has been overall the best.

Wet. Didn't know they had a dry one.

They have one on their website called a DryTech. I did, however, order a regular (wet application) TechSkin, which should be here next week. <Fingers crossed> It was only $6.99 on Skinomi's Amazon store, so wthn?

I've tried the Ghost Armor screen protector and although i had no major problems with it, I would rather have better. Has anybody compared anything to GA, and thought there was a better product?

I had GA on my phone for 3 weeks. My issue with it was that it was attracted crazy amounts of grease/finger prints, to the amount that it would make the screen constantly look blurry. Even wiping it on my shirt would only help until the next time i used it.

The second issue, after removing the protector, i have realized how crisp and clear and sensitive to the touch the phone is. Even though the ghost armor was 99% clear and in retaining touch sensitivity, it still isnt like going naked.

And last, the feel of just the phone's glass screen is amazing, and i wish a protector could imitate that. I use swype keyboard, and typing with the naked screen is simply amazing, the feel is sooo smooth and silky. The ghost armor protector was not anywhere near as silky smooth to the touch. My finger still had resistance to it and it had a very very slight gummy feel to it

Any orange peel effect with the XO? I have a Ghost Armor on right now, and even though it doesn't I don't really see it with the screen on there is a light orange peel effect.
