Wearing Moto 360 on inside of wrist

I'm one of those weird people who wears my watch (when I wear one) with the face on the inside of my wrist. I started doing this back when I was a teenager and racing triathlon -- when you're done on the aero bars, wearing it that way made the watchface readable without having to move out of the tucked position. Here are the things I've noticed about wearing the Moto 360 in that position:

  • The heart rate monitor is off. Consistently, in the 40-55% range (ex. my resting pulse is in the mid 70's, the Moto 360 will report between 42 and 48). Measured multiple times with a blood pressue monitor for accuracy.
  • The ambient watch face turn on mechanism does not work when you rotate your wrist in the "wrong" direction. It seems to only work when I rotate my wrist as if it were on the outside.
  • If you are concerned that it may look too big on your wrist, having it on the inside seems to greatly diminish the visual impact of the watch. When I wore it on the inside of my wrist, no one said much of anything. Then, when I wore it on the outside of my wrist, my wife commented out of the blue, "wow, that's really big". Of course, you may want people to notice, so YMMV.

Does anyone else wear their watch on the inside?

I don't wear it like that, but I do know that the algorithm for turning the screen on is based on an UP + TILT motion. If you wear your Moto on the inside of the wrist, UP becomes DOWN, thus throwing off the entire gesture. Also, for the heart monitor to work on the bottom of your arm you should stay away from tendons, like the ones that probably fall right under your watch if you wear it like that, and also it should be closer to your skin (like tight close).
