Weather keeps disappearing from lock and home screens

Lately the stock weather "widget" has been disappearing and reappearing from those 2 screens. Sometimes a restart will restore it. Other times not. Sometimes it will just return on it's own. I am not sure if this started with the July update or not as not quite sure when it started. Happening more frequently now.

Anyone else experiencing this with their Pixel 3?

No, and I found a ton of reports of this on Pixels going back at least to the Pixel 2 and 2018 on the Google Pixel Support page and even here on Android Central.

You can find the weather app in app list or system apps and clear its data, cache force stop see what happens

I don't see it listed anywhere. It is part of the At A Glance widget. Dragging a new one to the screen does not bring it back as some have suggested. Just gives me a duplicate of what was already showing.

Anyone else experiencing this with their Pixel 3?

This has been happening off and on with my Pixel 3 over the past week or so. Per the screenshot, date and time are visible but no weather. At some later point it will come back and then disappear again. Can't find a rhyme or reason.

Did the obvious restart and shortly thereafter the weather reappeared but was only temporary.

I had this happen to my Pixel 3a after I upgraded to the August updates. The fox that did it for me, suggested by a forum team member, was to clear the cache on the Pixel Launcher (Settings > Apps and Notifications > Show all apps > 3-dots on top right select Show System > Pixel Launcher > Storage and cache > Clear cache...then restart the phone and see of things improve for you

You have to repeat the fix described above. I had to repeat it this AM.

So I'm on the beta and weather disappears from the at a glance widget. Here's the simple fix that works for me. Hold down to add a widget to the home screen. Scroll to Google and add a second "at a glance" widget. Weather reappears. Delete 2nd at a glance widget.

Tried that yesterday and it worked. But eventually the weather disappeared again. Tried it again this morning with no success.

Not really interested in a daily routine of clearing the cache and restarting so hoping someone else will find a magic bullet.

Clearing the launcher cache sometimes works. Adding a second widget sometimes works. Rebooting the phone sometimes works. This bug existed long before the August update. I upgraded to the Android 11 beta and it hasn't happened since, but that doesn't mean it won't.

Mine disappears all the time. You just have to accept it. There's so many bugs on the 3 that you almost need to spray it with insecticide. And killing the 3 wouldn't be a bad thing IMO. I'm disgusted with mine and all the issues.

I've had the Pixel 3 since its launch. Except for the AT A GLANCE issue which went away after 2 days of problems. It's the best smartphone I've ever had.

And I just lost it again on the Android 11 beta. I don't know why Google won't fix this. It goes back at least a year. There are several threads on the support page... all closed and locked.
