Weather widget on home screen is missing?

Mine works only when I toggle location service on. When I shut it off it goes away

How do I make the widget go back to the date instead of show the weather? I have gone I to the "everything else"settings and turned weather off but it won't change.

I was so hopeful when I read yours, even after all of those suggestions above your failed. I had that weather widget when the phone was new, and then it disappeared at one point, maybe with the 7.1 update. Today I did the 7.1.1, hopeful that would bring it back. And now your suggestion, but still no luck. ...

It's not obvious, but I got it working using the following steps:
1 Long Press on Screen to get the Settings
2. choose settings and turn on Google Apps
3. Slide out the Google Page
4. click on the 'hamburger' menu
5. Click on Settings
6. Click on feed and enable it
7. Turn on the Weather setting in 'Get notified about'

The it'll appear on the home screen.

Is there a way to remove the weather widget from the home screen/. It is cute and all that but I use another app for weather instead and would like to use it's widget instead. I could simply add that other widget to the home screen, but I try to keep the home screen pretty clean and un cluttered, and don't really want to do that. Thanks in advance.

Upgraded to Oreo, Since then the weather widget disappeared. Since I have google for work, I realized that if I log in to google now (google app) with the work account it will show the widget but when I log back to the private account it will go back to show the date and time. Again, it started only from Oreo times. It looks like something wrong in my account's settings.

The Pixel Launcher weather widget seems to be temperamental. I have turned off the Now page on the left. It just switches and toggles the day or current forecast at seemingly random times. My hunch is it needs a solid fix on the device's lat long values.

It also seems that 'Your Feed' must be toggled on.

I've had this problem and found that I had turned off weather updates for my current location in a previous version of Google Now. This is how I fixed it

1. Swipe Left to the google now / feed
2. If you don't have the burger menu on the left, click on the three dots on the right
3. click on the burger menu
4. choose Customise
5. Scroll down to weather
6. Ensure options are on including "Weather updates for your location"

I'd tried everything I could find on the net and this worked for me. Thanks to Rexius80 on Reddit. Now how do I turn it off?

Open the Google app.

Top right click on the 3 dots and then "Customize feed".

Scroll down to "Weather".

Go to "View all settings" under "Weather".

Uncheck and recheck all the options there.

Go back and uncheck and recheck the toggle next to "Weather" just for good measure.

Touch "Done" in the top right.
