I will be new to Android when the EVO is released and had a question if someone can help. What is the weather widget that displays on the home screen? The one where it shows you the temp and stuff under the time that we see in the video reviews. Anyone that can help would be appreciated

It is a HTC Sense weather widget. It comes installed and is the default weather widget.

I think that's the stock widget that HTC Sense provides. If you like it, it's gonna be there when you fire it up. I presume it uses cell tower location to determine where it's at to provide local conditions. So long Accuweather app on my Pre which I had to launch to find out what the temp was outside.

Yeah it automatically updates with your location

You guys are GREAT! I knew I could get quick answers and help here just like precentral! So long Pre it has been fun

Awesome. I hated having to launch Accuweather and then select which city I was in - home, work, girlfriend's - and only able to do that after the previous city came up, which could take ages if it was in a mood.

I went from Pre to Tour 9630 to a Bold 9650. Pre was my bday gift last year and The EVO along with a Sling box this year

I had the Pre at launch. I even camped out for that crap! lol :p

My GF has a Pixi, which is basically a small screen version of the Pre with a keyboard, and I have messed around with it a little. There are some things I really like about it but the thing that sticks out to me and it will blow your mind too, is the number of free apps for Android vs. Palm.

It seems like only about 20% of the WebOS apps are free and the ones that are aren't the good ones. Nevermind the pure number of apps is 10% of Android but I never could figure that out. I have the SDK for both and it seems like creating apps for WebOS is easier than for Android too. Maybe I'm wrong.

I went in around noon on launch day and the store was sold out of Pres, but I was able to prepay for one in full and have it shipped in a few days later. I then had to chase Sprint to get those days credited back to me since I didn't actually have the damn phone in hand. Yeesh.

The Pre was a good idea poorly executed and abysmally marketed. If I were to ever cross paths with Rubenstein, the first words out of my mouth will probably be, "Just how effing high were you guys to believe that a creepy, albino, Borg Queen-looking, freak girl talking about how the phone was reading her mind and going, 'Bing. Bing. Bing.' was an effective or even sane marketing plan?!?!? The iPhone ads show apps doing stuff. You had cat girl and a thousand Shao Lin dancers making meaningless shapes in the Chinese grasslands. Were you sent by Lord Jobs to sabotage Palm? Well, mission accomplished, asstackler. Now, I'm gonna punch you in the junk."

heyyy now!!! i had no interest in the pre at all cuz all i wanted was my hero last year before it came out, iroincally i just got it a few weeks ago but its going back in a day for the EVO, nonetheless i bought my pre for 50 bucks from a friend at work to hold me over cuz i had the gayass instinct, to say the least that was in sept i think i fell in love with my pre and helped with alot of the stuff some of you prolly know me from precentral. it was fun to be a part of the explosion of openess on the pre like with doom hit the first day, and VBA and overclocking, it was a fun adventure... so dont totally be bashing your pre cuz you know damn well you wish we had our cards on our androids!
