My workplace has an open wifi network that requires a web based login. We are supposed to use our work credentials to login via the web browser. The sprint hero cannot seem to display the login page. I used to use a palm pre without any problems with the wifi.

I have had my htc hero replaced for unrelated issues and I could not use the wifi on either one of them. I can login via the web based authentication on my ipod touch.

Is this normal or how can I fix this?

may sound strange but have you tried connecting to that page with a different web browser than the default?

I would give DolphinHD a try, not a huge fan of the browser but occasionally it will display things that the default browser fails to display.

Opera browser may be able to display it. I couldn't imagine the login page using a flash app. But it might be something to check.

I tried opera before and nothing. I just tried DolphinHD and same result. I dont think its flash cause the ipod touch can display the login page (and we all know ipods do not do flash).

My school has an open wifi network as well and I can login to it fine. When I select the wifi network and click on the internet, the login page pops up automatically pops up. Maybe you should try typing in (or maybe copy and paste from email) the url address and see if that makes the log-in page pop up.

well there is no specific url to go to. Once it connects to the wifi then you are just supposed to go to any website and it should automatically redirect you to the login page. Who knows, maybe their wifi login is not compatible with android....
