This is Frankie (golden retriever) and Jake (Airedale terrier) on a nice fall day.. Both are 5 years old. Good brothers with completely different personalities.
Taken on a Galaxy Note 2 with stock filters. Slightly cropped w/Pixlr express.

We're ready to jump into another weekly photo contest, and give away some great prizes to the best photographers that enter. This week we're going away from abstract topic prompts to go a little narrower – this week our prompt is "animals." Whether it's your faithful companion dog, a lion at a zoo or a painting of a dragon, we want to see what you can do with this week's topic.

We'll be picking out three winners this week, and each will receive a Pebble smartwatch to connect to their phone.

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (October 22) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per week per person.

Good luck, everyone!

How do i upload a pic?

Posted via Android Central App

You can't upload it using the AC app. You'll need to open up your browser, go to the Android Central website and post your comment that way. You'll see a little icon once your start your comment, were you'll be able to choose a picture from your phone to upload.
Or if you're using the forum app Tapatalk, that also gives you the option to upload a pic. Hope this helps. :)

It's a forum app avail in the play store. I don't want to derail the thread so send me a pm if you want some more information.

This is Pippa at Craggy Gardens National Park. She (not so graciously) got up on a stone wall so I could get this shot of her against the back drop along the Blue Ridge Parkway, just outside of Asheville, NC. It was taken with my HTC One X, and edited with the stock software (Twilight Effect).

On my last camping trip came across this The Marbled Orb Weaver Spider. Just in time for Halloween!! Took the shot using my LG G2 and used PowerCam to give it an HDR effect.

Sphinx

Spinx_AC_animals_contest.jpg

This is the cat I came across one day and it was so vigorously ignoring me that I almost stepped on it (not intentionally, mind you!) and it didn't even blink. Just laid down and did absolutely, perfectly nothing. It's the most catty cat I've seen in a long while, so I did photo of this guy :)

Photo itself:
Taken with my Galaxy S 2 with CM 10.2 on it with Zoom FX camera app (daylight preset).
As I couldn't get the photo straight from Android Central app, I did transfer it to computer and cropped the "bezels" with GIMP. I also had too compress the photo a little bit, so it lost some of the original sharpness, but original was too big to put into the forum. Otherwise, it's unedited. No filters or stuff ;)

Have a nice day too you all :)

This is Garfield enjoying the last sunbeams on our bed before winter starts :)

A photo captured with my Galaxy Note 3 in HDR mode, with a little editing in Snapseed.

Blitzen(dog) and Norman(cat)
These 2 have been friends for years, and while they are getting up there in age they still love to sit and watch the morning sun together...as long as the new puppy (not pictured) doesn't get in the way. I like to imagine they sit here and talk about "the good ol' days" :-)
