Was feeding our neighbors horses and saw this from their backyard last July. I take all my amazing night shots with my DSLR because of the easy manual settings, and am annoyed that I can't post them here too just to show off. This was shot with my 2013 Moto X.

Samsung GS5: morning glory -> a new wimsical perspective of my kitchen one glorious morning. Everything was bathed in shadows except for the portion you see. I was struck by it and snappd one.

"Feet of the chair"

A photo taken with my Z2 with no editing.


I was watching a movie in the cinemas when these bunch of kids repeatedly took pictures (with flash) of their shoes on the chair, even when the "feet of the chair" is showing more brightness that their cellphone cameras.

57% illuminated waxing gibbous moon, taken with Moto X (2013) held up to the eyepiece of an 8" Dobsonian telescope. The only editing I did was to flip the image so that the Moon appears in the orientation that you see it in the sky from the Northern hemisphere. (The Dob is a reflector, i.e., uses mirrors, and so the image you see through the telescope is inverted.)

Ice has been accumulating on everything and the trees all across town are breaking because of the excessive weight. I went outside in my back yard and snapped this picture of a fallen branch coated with ice. While I was taking this picture, I was hearing the cracking and popping of tree branches around the neighborhood breaking away from their trunks.

I took this with my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 using 16MP HDR no flash. I edited it using the stock editor effect vintage.

Here is my entry taken by a Moto X (2013). I used Perfectly Clear to take a panorama ironically the app created the lower resolution panoramas than any other app. This photo 30 minutes after sunrise turned our well. The sun was barely over the horizon and has yet to grace the land with it's presence.

This week's theme of darkness had me thinking of the relationship between darkness and light. There were quite a few posted that I don't really "feel" darkness. It's still. It's creepy. It's haunting. It is both external and internal. I chose the angel figurine who is lit, but to me is stumbling through the darkness with just his candle. The idea behind this being sometimes we need a candle to help guide us through the darkness both within and around us.

The setup: MotoX (2014). Using the Google Camera app, I used a table top for the figure with the Christmas lights from the tree as points in the background. I used my Nexus 7 screen to illuminate the face of the figure. No HDR. Cropped for framing and edited in Photos.

*It has a lot more contrast on my phone. Did a bit of a tweak for the computer screen using the basic Windows editor. That's why there's two versions. Won't let me delete the original attachment.
