The oldest phone in the house. Many of our visitors say it's a vintage. My dad got this when he had his first office job. But even until today, it is still fully functional and used by my dad in his office.

In a world of Facebook events and online RSVPs, my little sister's wedding invitation. I will have the honor of walking her down the aisle in my USAF uniform (as requested by her). She's always been enchanted by vintage items: developing her photos in a dark room, books about the roaring twenties, like gatsby and Fitzgeralds many works...

In honor of the 100th anniversary of World War I, this is a photo of a Nieuport 28C.1, an airplane flown late in the war. This picture was taken at the National Air & Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center with my Droid MAXX's camera with automatic settings. What makes this photo special to me is that I was at an open house at the museum's original restoration facility in 1990, and saw this airplane shoved in a hanger with other aircraft awaiting restoration.

Those old sprinkler pipes. Taken with a Moto X (2014).

Liking the old look of things isn't just for hipsters — it's okay to appreciate the past and integrate some of those items or looks into your life today. Whether you're a fan of the old world charm or have more of an eye for modern conveniences, you can appreciate vintage items — and that's why this week's photo contest prompt is "vintage."

For their winning pictures this week, two entries will receive an Arkon Mobile Grip 2 Universal Smartphone Flexible Mini Tripod Mount, which should really help with mobile photo taking going forward!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (January 27) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
  • Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per week per person.

Good luck, everyone!

Re: Weekly Photo Contest: Vintage - both sides of the wall

Old phone from the 1960's still being used where I work. And it works perfectly!

Taken with Nexus 5, added "Memory" filter in Photoshop Express Android app.

An authentic photo showing German soldiers during Second World War, who has just executed Jewish citizens in Cracow (Poland). The photo presents Holocaust in one of the Polish cities called Cracow during German occupation. It was taken in Shiendler's Factory museum. Very sad but very true. So many people died.... The picture was taken with Sony Xperia Z1 and edited in Handy Photo app.

"The Old Trams"

Hello, my name is André and I live in Lisbon, Portugal. Yesterday I went for a walk and passed by the Tram Museum, next to the museum there's a park where the old Trams that still ride around town finish they're shift. Most of them are yellow but there are some which are red like in the picture.

These are in front of a home on a short cut street I use when there is allot of traffic to get around. I love driving by because all the history each one has. The property has 5 machines and I could not select which one to post so I used app Photo Grid to put them all on one picture. I took the picture using my Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

When I heard the theme was Vintage I knew I'd have some good opportunities to grab a good picture in St. Petersburg, Russia (Vintage is everywhere here). Here's an old radio and record player in the background, both are in excellent condition. Taken with my LG G3 and edited in Google Photos.
