When you call, ask to add the mobile hotspot. Then ask what your options are as far as how much data. They should give you the option for unlimited data for $30. Take it. It will automatically change your phone's data plan to unlimited. Don't tell them you are looking for unlimited data. Good luck.

You ought to get the rep names, numbers and extensions. I have called at least 6 times and always get the same answer. I would love to call a rep that was more flexible.

I told 'em I was on MyVerizon trying to add the mobile hotspot, and it gave me an error saying to call in. (this is in fact true) That's it. Didn't mention anything about my data plan. I'm assuming that the only way to add the unlimited hotspot is to change your data plan to unlimited.

Not only did we get unlimited hotspot and data, but did anyone notice the discount? It ended up being around $48 altogether. That means I'm only spending $18 more for the hotspot and data than before when I just had 4 GB for data. This just keeps getting better and better. Also, I have exceeded 10 GBs already. Still have 14 days in the cycle left. Yikes!

are you in grandfathered plan? The rep told me that was a promotion for those who was with verizon at least a year. Also he told me he got this promotion too cause his plan was grandfather plan. i asked him if there's anyways he tries to do for me then he said he can't do anything so far cause i just signed the contract with verizon for only a month. He was really nice so i just hang up the phone and stop bugging him. :(

I just opened my account with the iPhone 4S. I was at 2GB just like everyone else. I got the Rezound and called to enable the hotspot and to give me the double your data so that I would have 4GB. And that's when I found out about the unlimited goodness. Sorry it didn't work for you. Keep trying.

It worked like a charm for me yesterday.. Im new to verizon got my htc rezound in yesterday activated it made the switch the first try...I do still have the MHS on it..Im going to wait a few before I remove it though

I'm not removing the hotspot ever just in case they decide to do away with the unlimited 4G one day. This deal is just too good.

HTC Rezound

I am thinking of adding it back on. So, you get your corp discount on the total of $60 and not just the addition of the MHS for $30?

I was a VZW Customer for 11 years. I went to Sprint because I worked there for 2 months. After leaving the company, I stayed with Sprint service for another 3 months. Fed up with how bad their network is, I went back to VZW. Unfortunately I was no longer grandfathered into the unlimited data plan. :(

I signed up for the 2-4gb for $30. Saw this thread, tried it. Worked on the first call! (see bottom right)

Thanks for the info and making this thread!

Correct, the unlimited qualifies for the employer discount, you have 20% discount on both unlimited data and mhs. The $30 tiered data plan does not qualify, you need a higher tiered data plan to qualify.

Good bump, GNG, I completely forgot about this thread, helped turn more than a few frowns upside down. Seems like Verizon usually puts the big kabosh down on tips after a week or two. Glad to see people are still getting mileage out of it.
