Weird Battery Bug - can't reach 100%?

Mine said 100% but dropped to 87% this morning the second I unplugged it. I also just charged it for an hour - it was at 7% now it is at zero percent but very warm.

Every single device with a lithium ion battery does this. Not every device you own however has a battery percentage lol. It's perfectly normal. Float charging is how you charge a lithium ion battery, not trickle charge. I wouldn't worry about it too much. What I do is I unplugg it when I wake up and immidiately plug it back in. Usually get a tad better life.

HTC simply needs to release patch that keeps 100% displayed after fully charged.
Hopefully their aware of bug & throw us fix.

99 is almost 100 if you are running out of battery I doubt 1% is going to last you very long. So stop worrying about it not charging to 100% it takes a while before it gets to 100%.

If someone can explain to me why this happens, I'm all ears.
I powered off the phone at night to recharge. I plug it in overnight using the cable provided with the phone. I got up this morning with the green light on. I left the Phone plugged in, but turned it on. The light immediately turned red. It's now 40 minutes after I woke up, and the charging light is still red! This just seems strange that it goes from green to red while still on the charger?
Thanks.

After the phone reaches 100% its stops charging. Thats why its a good idea to have the screen turn off while its plugged in, because after it reaches 100% its gonna stop charging (just look at the battery and lightning bolt will be gone) and start discharging. Thats why some people will see a big drop once they unplug it. It was the same with the OG EVO.

As soon as my charging light turns green I take mine off the charger, but I also have my screen turn off when its plugged in so when I charge overnight I dont wake up to a huge drop once I unplug it.

Well I just called HTC to let them know about bug. I suggest everyone reading this thread do the same so fix comes.

I had the phone off while charging, and it still turned red upon turning the phone on while still on the charger! There is no way that should happen! I guess it's something I'll have to get used to. Not a deal breaker, just annoying.

ya same thing happened to me last night.
Once on it displayed 99% then took 45min to get 100% green

I don't get the 100% but do get a fully charged notice on Batt Stat.

Is there a difference?

Like someone said once you get to 99% it takes a little longer to get to 100%. But once the phone reaches 100% the light turns green and the phone stops charging. You can tell by the lightening bolt.
