weird bluetooth problem with my Samsung Moto 1650

[Android Central Question]

1. Samsung Moto 1650 android phone
2. arctic bluetooth headset

using the arctic bluetooth headset with my Moto phone is no problem for listening to podcasts, etc.

It's also no problem to use the phone (ie, to call someone), when I'm home and connected to my home wi-fi network.

However, when I'm out in "the world," when I make (or receive) a call, I can NOT hear anything in the headset. no idea what this is. I'm not 100% certain if the other person can hear me or not. (I never get far enough to find out.)

Can anyone think of anything that would cause this? driving me nuts. I have to jerk the headphones off my head and quickly push the speaker button on the calling app to be able to hear the call!

Help! Grateful for any feedback or suggestions.

Welcome to Android Central! I assume you mean that you have a Moto XT1650, aka the Moto Z (not a Samsung phone).

When you're away from home, go to Settings>Bluetooth, and tap the gear icon next to the headset entry. Is Phone Audio turned on?
