Weird Contact issue

this is really weird and has to do w/ pictures for contacts...

I have added pictures to my contacts....icon if you will. Than I have made shortcuts to these contacts on a home screen. I did 3 of them last week....and the pictures for the contacts have all shown up properly in the contact list as well as as a shortcut on that home screen.

Today I added 3 more.....only they don't show up as pictures in the shortcuts on the home screen....only in the list? Wtf?

keep in mind, I'm new to Android....but this is baffling.

Open one of those contacts that does not show the icon on the homescreen. Menu... Edit...Menu.... Then if the option to "Seperate" is there, then do it. Now you will have 2 contacts of the same person.
Google / Gmail automatically merges contacts it "thinks" are the same person.

You may have merged contacts that you do not know about.

After you seperate them, add the one with the contact pic.

That's the only thing I can think of.
