Weird Gmail behavior?

Anybody have gmail pop to the foreground showing an ad you just received? This has happened a number of times to me while using other apps. I was convinced I was just fat fingering something, but I'm not so certain anymore.

For instance... I'm using GoSMS and suddenly, up pops my Gmail open to an email I received advertising Hipmunk deals. Not long after, same thing happened, open to a hotel advertisement.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Mark

Sounds like it might be an app causing that. double check recent apps. delete and reinstall one by one checking for the behavior.

I thought that, too, but I went and checked my inbox on the Gmail site, both ads in the named example were legitimate (if you can call them that) ads that were pulled from Gmail, as they are both now marked read. These are the messages. I've never captured a popped-up email in screenshot. I'll try to remember to do that if/when it happens next.

And for @kirksucks, I have a very very static config. I pretty much have used the same spread of apps for better than a year. Other than auto updates, I almost never get anything from the Play store. (Though, to be honest, I'm about to try a different messenger, because Go is beginning to bother me).

Mind you, it wouldn't surprise me at all to find this was just me and some weird grip I have on the phone calling mail up.

And here are all of the ones I caught since last week...

What provider are you using? Could be a bug in the service provider's software additions.
