Weird Issue with Headphone Jack

I couldn't find anything online regarding this issue so I was wondering if anyone else experienced it? When using a wired headset to listen to music or talk on the phone, if I jangle the chord near the bass the phone goes haywire. It dials the last call (or hangs up the current call I'm on), launches the music player, and launches Google Voice app..sometimes cycles this several times. I've tried this with multiple handsets and headphones. Anyone else had this issue?

I have seen this on the og evo as well as the evo 3d, from what I can remember it had something to do with plug not being grounded properly.

I run with headphones and have the same problem. I downloaded "Headset Blocker" from the Play Store and it solved that problem for me.
