weird message

My phone randomly restarted about an hour ago into the "odin mode",...... Not familiar with that.... And I can't start my phone since. Something is apparently being downloaded but no progress bar is visible, and there hasn't been movement from this screen since. Has anyone seen this before? Or know what I need to do?

I'm attaching a picture of what my screen looks like. Sorry for the quality, I took the picture from my ASUS tf101. Let me know if you'd like to know what the text says. The red text says "odin mode."

You are in download mode. Simply hold the power button for ten seconds or pull the battery and restart. You get into download mode by powering off the phone then power on holding power and volume down.

It's the mode you need to be in to flash files to the phone using Samsung's flashing utility program called Odin.

not to stray too much from the topic but you mentioned that the download mode is for flashing roms...do you recommend a stable ICS rom for the Epic 4g Touch?

Calkulin has a good ICS rom that you can find on XDA.

Everything worked well on it, but my battery life wasn't that great. YMMV.

Personally I use Frankenstein's FIFO2 as my daily ROM. I haven't had any issues with it since I flashed it a week or so ago.

I think this needs to be said.... Your really going to need to slide over to XDA and do some real reading on rooting, flashing roms and ICS roms.

I'm not trying to troll or put down the OP here, I'm just saying... If you didn't know what "download mod" was before you posted your question... You really need to read up on everything involved in rooting and all. Its easy once you know what your doing.
