Weird question: how did LG eliminate LCD bleed?

The V10 had horrible LCD bleed, especially with the always on second screen. The V20 fixed that issue and looks wayy better, making the blacks look dark and showing very little LCD bleed. How did they do that? I really like how the always on display looks on the V20. Too bad it's going away so soon in favor of AMOLED.
