Weird shortcut screen + ads

Ummm... Any idea what this is? I've had this phone for over a year and have NEVER seen this. Today I grabbed my phone with my thumb on the edge, and this popped up. You can rotate between "recent", "common" and "shortcut settings". It's reproducible by swiping from the lower right or lower left edge of the screen. ???

It looks like the swipe feature in ES File Explorer. Do you have this app installed?

I do and have for over a year. How is it possible I've never seen this before? I thought I got hit with a stealth Sense update!

Have you confirmed if ES was the culprit? They have been including new so-called features and more ads on every update and many users have been complaining about them.

It is. There's a menu that includes "ES Swipe", which is enabled by default.

It's actually kind of a slick Recents menu, but I'm not too fond of the ads.
