I love the Moto X, it took me a while after the announcement to really like it, and I have always defended it to my last breath. But the more hate I see on it, the more my mind wanders. I don't plan on leaving Verizon anytime soon, and its the only one I like over S4, One, G2 (Don't like their skins mostly). But all the hate about the customer service, removable battery, lack of sd card, ok I never had to deal with any of those except sd card but I could go around that.
I want the phone but don't at the same time. Guess I get that for not picking it up while its hot.
I love the Moto X.
Perfect Size for me.(pocketable) I hate holsters or anything on my side it just winds up getting in the way or snagged on something.
As far as Sd card goes I think you can still get 50 GB on Google drive when you activate it .I think they change it to you have to activate by the first 30 days now though.
You get 50 GB for 2 years after that they dont take the space away but you can not add anymore stuff to it ,so the trick would be to add everything to it before 2 years is up.After that it goes back to 15 GB.But as mentioned they wont take space away you already have after the 2 years.
Also Sd cards do fail at times.None of mine did but read others did.I was used to having sd cards as well my previous phones were 32 GB with 32 GB sd cards( Galaxy Nexus,S3)
As far as Moto customer service I read about people having bad experience with.I did not have a bad experience with.
I had an issue about the Lost Device Map not showing (
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/mcp/details/p/30,6720,8696//#/lost_device).
I was getting an google error something about I need to paste a key, blah blah blah ,etc. I tried to follow instructions nothing worked to fix it.
I emailed Moto support on the link I posted above .
Afterwords I wasnt really to concerned since I could always use Google Android Device Manager if needed .
I got some emails from Moto support asking if my issue was resolved and another email the next day saying if they didnt hear back they would consider it solved. I didnt reply back and fiqured that would be the end of it.
Later in that week while delivering parts driving company truck I got a call ( I usually dont answer calls I dont recogize but I did)
It was Moto support and yes they spoke English perfectly. They asked was the issue resolved I said no but I had a solution fiqured out using Google Android Manager.I told them I was driving and about the google error code on the pop up window.
He said ok what would be a good time to call back I told him . He said he would call back then.
In the meantime I tried to access the Moto support page map later that day, just to see if it worked, and this time it worked.
He did call back exactly the time he said he would I told him it was now working .I had done nothing to fix it.He guessed it might had been a server issue and wish I could remember the exact error code and if it ever happened again to contact them instead of email , call.
It hasnt happened again.
When deciding on phone I do read reviews but also take then with a grain of salt since no one phone works for everyone or there would just be one phone ,ha.For my sister for example this phone might not work as well for her .After she talked with me about,, but thats another story and she is still undecided since she likes the features I showed her.
I look for features I like and will use daily .
Phone size.To some extent the smoothness of OS but with everone messing with the demos its no 100% way to check that.
The bottom line is no one can pick out the phone you want except you .Its to late to make this post short

.I got carried away LoL Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to point out that my experience with Moto support wasnt bad and in my case they spoke and understood english including slang
