Well, I really like my G5 (came from a V10)

My build quality is excellent. I dont have any of the issues that others mentioned. No light bleed, no battery door problems not aligning.

Its much more zippy than the V10. The battery is excellent so far (compared to V10). I was worried it might be bad, but i'm getting much longer on time.

The wide angle camera - LOVE IT. I travel alot, and landscapes and scenery are key. I also like the side buttons, which double as a button to take a picture.

I do miss the texture of the V10 phone. It had the rubbery grib, and very hard to drop. The G5 can be a slippery phone, so you will have to be careful.

No bleed during normal operation or at 100 percent brightness in a dark room with a test app?

I only get bleed with an app....Normal use it is non existent

What LCD doesn't have bleed using a test app with 100℅ brightness in a dark room? It's a backlit screen, it's the nature of the technology. I believe that some might be having serious problems though as the only screen I've ever had where it was problematic for normal use was the Nexus 9. That got sent back.

THANK YOU!!!

I'm enjoying mine as well. As I've mentioned in a few other threads, the only issue I've had is the sim card slot is a bit recessed, which makes that area of the phone a bit sharp when I hold the phone. I may bring it in for an exchange.

It's a solid phone. It doesn't wow me like my htc m8 did 2 years ago but that phone's battery died on me and stopped charging anymore, wouldn't have that problem if I could replace the battery...

I did a side by side and it is quite a lot faster than my m8. Loads webpages much faster even. I did that backlight test and i see at the very top there is some small led backlight bleed at the very top leds at 100% brightness (and by minor I mean very minor) but I do not notice it at all in normal operation. I'm disappointed that the ir blaster has limited functionality but I guess that's better than not having an ir blaster at all.

What are the blaster's limited issues?

What is the stock sound out of the g5 like. Especially through headphones and over bluetooth.

Still undecided between the v10 and g5. The size of the v10 is putting me off and the g5 is delayed for a couple of weeks in the u.k.

Im coming from a lg g3.

Doesn't work with my led lights. I went from normal lights to led lights and could control them with my htc m8 using ir blaster but it doesnt work with the l5. I could buy some wifi led lights if i wanted to use my phone for everything but it's a shame it doesn't work. The ir blaster was a bit of a selling point because I use led ir lights in my living room and bedroom to save power. The lg g5 doesn't work for them at all even trying to program them manually using the lg remote app. Ir to control my led lights worked perfectly with my htc m8 so it is a step back having to carry a separate remote when the phone should be able to do it for me.
