We're NOT getting ginger

I have 2 DInc's, one stock and one rooted. Never seen the low app space warning on either. The rooted phone has about 50 apps on it and I don't keep a lot of text's and only 1 day's worth of e-mail.

The stock phone has more apps than Carter has Liver Pills (My wife has yet to pass on a "Sparkley" app if she sees it.) and a gazillion text messages. I keep waiting to see the message come up on hers, but it never has.

I don't know if the update will "fix" the problem because the root of the problem is that the system data space is getting too full. My understanding is that moving Apps to the SD, clearing cache and keeping your SMS messages manageable is the real fix.

Thanks. It would be helpful to know whether someone who was experiencing the 'low app data' problem saw the problem go away upon installing a ROM. Does that describe you, by chance? I've been experiencing the problem (yet again) for the last few days...though it's not occurring at the moment.

CG, sorry but I haven't ever had the "problem" either as a stock phone or after I've rooted. But much like Stig suggests (and ever since I owned the worst mobile device in recent memory the BB Storm 9530) I like to keep mine pretty lean and mean...probably about 30 downloaded apps and I don't let the text messages build up beyond 150 or so.

I've your rooted, and have a nandroid backup of your ROM take a shot at a Gingersense ROM, or Skyraider's latest 4.x. If you find you don't like just restore your nandroid and no harm no foul.

Looks like I'll probably have to reactivate my original Incredible to get the update, I'm running an Incredible 2 now.

I didn't have to reactivate, I just turned the phone on and it started.
