What APN settings are you using with AT&T?

Just curious as some APN settings render faster speeds and some make MMS not work.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM AT&T HSPA+ Speed Tests, APN Settings, PTA, Phone, Cingular410 - YouTube

I just read all 40 pages on the above XDA thread and seems it is a hit or miss changing the APN settings but overall not very consistent - Please post what you find

I am using the phone APN and everything works great, including MMS. At work I get about 5-6 Mbps down and 1-2 Mbps up. At home I only get 1-2 Mbps up and down but I usually only have around 2 bars. My latency is always right around 100ms.

One other thing that I did was call AT&T CS and change the provisioning on my data plan to the 4G HSPA+ plan(I came from an iPhone 4). I believe the plan code is HSDPPB. I am also on the unlimited data plan (for now....)

Thanks, does your GN show H or H+ on signal strength?

It shows H, but I am pretty sure that the GN doesn't use H+ on the signal indicator.
Thanks, mine shows H the majority of the time, and I triple checked with AT&T to make sure that I was on the smartphone 4G data plan. As well in Android Systems Info it shows HSDPA

Hey guys... I just found out about the APN issues that some of us might have...

I created the "phone" APN and with a few test I don't see an increase in multiple locations...

The highest D/L I have seen is 5.25Mb (once) on either the Cingular or "phone" APN in Manhattan...

At my home location in Long Island I only see a max of about 1.25Mb...

My account is provisioned with the code: HSSMT2GBH w/ a newer SIM
(FWI, The system still thinks my phone is the Nokia 900 LTE)

My questions:

1. Am I provisioned correctly?

2. Why isn't the "pta" APN not connecting for me?

3. Are the speeds I am attaining about right for the GNex H+ data rates on ATT?

Thanks again for all the help guys...

Sorry for the BUMP but a few of more things..

1. After needing to do something with my account, my GNex IMEI is now listed correctly.

2. I noticed that either with "phone" or the standard "Cingular" APN's I see the GNex will jump sometimes to HSPA+: 15 ...but mostly stays on "8"

3. Still will not connect with "pta" APN

What exactly does the GNex support in terms of HSPA+ speeds?

Any help would be great guys!
