What are you upgrading from for the Droid Prime?

Also upgrading from the thunderbolt. This phone is constantly hotter than hell if it is used with the screen on more than 5 minutes

I had the iPhone 3G (not the S version) that I had for 3 years until just a couple months ago.

I had been waiting for the Bionic since January, but as the time started growing closer, I realized that it wasn't going to be worth it enough to sign up for another 2 year plan. I got tired of waiting and jump on a dormant line on my girlfriends family plan (had already decided to move from AT&T to Verizon) I bought a Galaxy S Fascinate off eBay for $170 and have completely loved it (especially coming from that iPhone). I am pretty much completely sold on Samsung at this point (my gf has a Droid X, and while a nice phone, is just generally ugly design and screen wise).

I'm looking to get a top of the line phone, brand new, and keep it for a few years.

So yeah, the Nexus phone is likely going to be perfect for me and well worth a 2 year contract.

It'll be called the Droid Prime on Verizon, the Nexus Prime on the other 3 carriers, with a month long Verizon exclusive. Just wanted to get that down in writing so that when I'm right, I have some proof ;)
Are you sticking with that?

I bought a Droid 2 Global 10 months ago, paid an extra $50 at the time, so I'm now eligible for an upgrade. 2 years is far too long now. I think I'll wait for a Prime or HD... hopefully something will be available soon.

Just ordered a robot from romotive - it uses a smartphone as brain/sensors, so that is what my old phone will become, the brain of a new robot.

BB Tour on VZN. It has served me well for the past 2+ years but it's starting to hang frequently. In the market now and have never owned an android product....doing my research now. :)

Query: I live on the edge of the universe...not in an area with LTE (or likely to have it anytime soon). I've seen comments that indicate that LTE is a battery drain - will I be able to switch that off? (I'm a noob, as you can probably tell..)

Thanks

Nexus one. It is still a great phone and I kept it pristine. I don't know what I am going to do with it. Every member of my family who got smartphone got Nexus one... even my brother live in another country. :)
