What are you upgrading from?

From an iPhone 4 in July. Still comparing GSIII vs. HOX

I'm in the same boat except I'm coming over from Verizon. Have had an iPhone 4 for about 15 months. Tried the RAZR Maxx but returned it on day 13. We've decided to leave Verizon after 12 years so now I'm deciding between the One X and this phone.

iPhone 4 here. Long time Mac, and iOS user but generally tempted by the forbidden fruit of the dark side ;) I still have the new iPad for my iOS needs, but genuinely feel like the next iPhone will be a continuation of the iPhone 4/S, and I'm just not feeling a longer iPhone. Android seems mature enough at this point that it's time to move on.

I'm upgrading from an Iphone 4. I am just tired of all the restrictions and the small screen. I pre ordered my S3 from BB on June 7th and I'm hoping to get it soon.

I have a LTE Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S besides this.

Upgrading from an iPhone 4. I have been using the S3 for couple of days now. It is taking a little getting used to, such as the mail app. It doesn't seem as "slick" as the iPhone, but maybe I am just not used to it yet. I am a create of habit; I am sure as I use my S3 more I will be able to find the info I need faster.
As I looked at my iPhone 4 and S3 trying to see what apps I need to download to my S3, I realize that there are only a dozen or so apps that I use all the time and those are available for Android. I admit, the apps (such as Facebook) might look better at the iPhone but to me, the app developers can do a better job.
With the iPhone, i can set my pages for "work", "personal", "news" or whatever categories I want. With my S3, I feel I can do more. The pages are not JUST for organizing my apps. The pages are enhancing my categories. Like news, when I go to my news page now, I have widgets with headlines that I can look at quickly, instead of opening an app when I was using my iPhone. Or weather, I can glance at my S3 and I know what the weather will be like. With my iPhone, I had to open an app.
The S3 (Android) in general is just easier.
There are a billzion options and sometimes it is overwhelming, but the good thing is that if I don't like it anymore, I can always change it.
I am glad I left the iPhone (but that doesn't mean I won't go back) but at this point in my life, I am really liking Android and the possibilities it gives me.

P.S. It seems like my iPhones (3GS and 4) knew an Android phone is coming because both of them have been horribly laggy (app crashes [Safari, etc]) and I literally have to reset my iPhone 4 (pushing top and home button until the silver apple comes on) once or twice a day to reduce the lag.

Same here...I'm soooo done with iPhone anger. I'm shocked that I haven't smashed it on the floor by now!!

I started my last contract (and Android path) with the Aria then from either craigslist or friends went to the Captivate then Inspire and finally the Infuse. I just renewed my contract with the S3 and couldn't be happier. It is miles ahead of the others and an absolute joy to use.

The Note. While I loved the display size, i couldn't stand the lag on it. Also, I'm a tech whore and love having the latest and greatest.

2 coworkers of mine have Samsung Notes. I noticed the same thing, a lag.

I had an Infuse for a year, upgraded to the S2 Skyrocket, 5 days later the S3 is announced for the USA. So, I returned the Skyrocket and am waiting for my pre-order for AT&T S3 from Best Buy.

I should have ordered it via AT&T directly, From what I can tell(via online & phone calls) Best Buy has not received any AT&T S3s.

Several Best Buys have. Its apparently fairly random what order stores get them in. Small stores have received them while big stores have not in some areas

I hate my iPhone 4 can not wait for the GS3:cool:

I am so tried of apple treating us all like babies. Can't change this can't change that. Sick of it. Even with it jail broken most things where unchangeable.

My first and only "smart"phone - iPhone 3Gs. Jail broken since new, and its still boring.

Hopefully I'll be able to test out a S3 next week. Seems like people like it? ;)

Upgrading from an iPhone 3G, coming up on four years old. I don't upgrade very often, so I try to go with the best available when I do upgrade to get the most usable time out of it.

Several factors pushed me off of Apple:
  • Screen size too small
  • OS too closed
  • And the big one, Apple not allowing in app purchases without using Apple services
