What are you using for text app on the Note 20?

I don't understand why you guys don't have RCS with Samsung messages. I have had it integrated into my S10+ since I bought it in January. I use stock and love pinning messages and that it theme's with whatever my phone theme is. Little things. My app kept closing and I had to revert to Google messages for a few weeks and it was a terrible experience after using stock Samsung messages app.

At&t and Verizon hasn't added yet. The only way to use RCS on att is to use Google messages app. They're to busy pushing their advance messaging that only works between att users. Same with Verizon messages it only works with Verizon users.

I like Textra because of the customization as far as colors and everything else. The others may be able to do customization now but they couldn't when I started using Textra.

Been using a love Texts but was forced to use the Samsung app because I got a Galaxy Watch. Anyone know if I could use Textra and the watch??

Textra works, but texting back to someone is limited to replies to messages through the notification. Samsung messages allows you to text on the watch without a notification.

Been using Textra (full paid version) for a few years now and have no complaints. I think it was only like $5 for the full version of it. Not really sure if/how it's any kind of real upgrade over the stock messaging app on the Note 20 though. Haven't really spent any time messing with the stock app to see what kind of improvements and new features it has.

Agreed....I used TEXTRA for a while and the best feature was pressing enter to send messages. but using Google MSg now for the RCS feature.

the RCS Situation is really pissing me off. This is where Apple has killed it for so long.
I didn't have it with my S20 on tmobile and i still dont have it on my note 20 on Tmobile, using Samsung messages.

I like Samsung Messages largely because I like the ability to pin favorites to the top and also the ability to set up various categories. It helps keep my conversations organized and easier to find.

I have the GA2 now though had the G watch and used VZ's Messages+ (still do) with no problem on the watch.
Just make sure you have set Textra as the default messaging app and the watch is set up to get notifications from the app. Should work fine! And when sending texts from watch's native app they should be shown as from Textra on the phone!

Been using Goog msg for a few years and the only feature its missing is a direct enter to send feature. TEXTRA has this BUT I have VM to text and the play key looks better with GM than TEXTRA.

I like Google messages.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I've been using Handcent Next SMS for years. Highly customizable - you can change everything from background wallpaper to text font and text color, text size, custom notifications, custom pop up screen, and more. Works great on my Samsung Galaxy gear watch too

Just switched back to stock from Google messages didn't know it worked with RCS.
