I've had every Evo since they started makng them, I was very pleased with the hardware on all three of them. The 3d was a little gimmicky, and I mised the kickstand on it. The Evo LTE has been a discouragement since the entire year I've had it I've been waiting for 4g to show up where I would use it. So I'm giving up on Sprint, and since I've been travelling a bit more these last few years, I'm hoping to get a phone which I can use internationally for more than just wifi usage.
When moving from the 4.3 inch of the Evo 3D to the 4.7 inch of the Evo LTE, I thought that it might be too big, but really you get used to it. I think with a headset or with bluetooth even my Nexus 7 would be a decent phone. I did catch someone on my latest trip holding up a 7 inch screen to their ear to make a call, looked a little wierd, but they didn't have to two hand it to make it happen, I just think that might be a little too wierd to have to have your tablet with you at all times. I could probably deal with up to about 5.5 like the Note, but... after the experience I had with my prior Samsung device, I'll be sticking with HTC for a while to come.
So in the end I ordered the HTC One Developer Edition, and will stroll into a T-Mobile store for non-contract service, keeping unlimited data, and adding unlimited voice, limited tethering, and 4g speeds, for $25 less per month. The only thing I'm worried about is if I can keep my number with Google Voice, but if not, that's fine, mainly I like it for the backup of still being able to get my voicemail without having international service right now, and with a SIM Unlocked One, I won't need to worry about that if I pick up a SIM overseas.
