What are your top MUSIC apps for Android Auto?

So I download a lot of albums to my phone on GPM so that when I listen on the fly and AA i don't use a lot of data.
I haven't figured out an easy way to navigate using GPM on AA to my "downloaded only" music. Is there a way other than downloading a "playlist?" I know how to find those under the Playlists tab. Id like to just see everything I've downloaded. Is that possible?

Unfortunately, you can't browse anything but playlists. You can voice request a song, album, or artist and it will play it.

How difficult is it to setup Subsonic on an Android Auto radio head and a Samsung Note 7?

You do know that you can download music in GPM...

Me? I use GPM for music but I mostly listen to podcasts with BeyondPod, TuneIn for the Tom Leykis Show and Audible for auto books.

I've gone back to using bluetooth for Music. AA is just too restrictive. None of the music apps I've I've tried let you browse Artists/Alburms even when parked.

Do you have a Subsonic server running? If so, you will need to purchase DSUB from the Play Store. Then all you have to do is get it working on your phone and it will show up as an option in AA.

I have not yet gotten that far but their system seems to be an attractive way to have the most flexible way to access the 550 music CDs I have loaded om my home computer. Not all that interested in music online but want to be able to manipulate my own music on Android Auto on the newly installed Kenwood DXX9703S. Is it worth the effort? Anyone done it?
