What carrier/tab do you have and why?

I'm asking because I'm curious and because I think it will help potential Tab buyers. I only went with tmo when I got mine because they would sell it to me for $250 on contract. I have Verizon for voice and almost went with them but their data speeds in Denver are sooooo slow. I had no idea that Verizon charged for messages either where as they are included with Sprint and tmo.

I am on Sprint with my EVO, so I went with the Sprint Tab. I have the 2GB plan. I use it mostly on WiFi, but I like the option to use wireless when I am not around a WiFi signal. I use it mostly for work, and have ditched my laptop in favor of the Tab. It easily replaces all the functions I needed in a laptop. I wouldn't sit down and write a term paper or anything like that, but I use LogMeIn, and can get everything I need from my desktop computer.

So far, I have not come anywhere close to using the 2GB limit, as Wifi is available in my office, home, etc. I travel a lot for work, and it has been a really good product. I don't know much about the other Tabs, but I went with Sprint because of my existing service with them. It was the most convenient for me. No complaints.

I think it depends if you want the hassle of dealing with two providers and two bills, etc.

I'm on Sprint because that's what we use as our primary wireless carrier at work. I don't think I would have gotten the SGT if it wasn't through work due to the expense, so I'm not really a typical consumer.

However, the one advantage to Sprint is that their 2GB plan at $30/mo is probably the best deal. AT&T has cheaper plans, but for much less data. TMo starts really low for a small amount of data and then jumps to $40 for 5GB. I think 2GB is a good sweet spot for data, enough to tide you over when you're out of wifi but not so little that you'll have to worry about usage (2GB is actually quite lot if you can tap into wifi at work and home).

Verizon because I added it to my wife's account. I see no need to get the 4G Galaxy Tab. Mine is fast enough. The best thing I've ever bought.

I have the sprint tab, but i use it on wifi only right now. I bought the virgin mobile mifi 2200 w/ unlimited data for $40 a month. the virgin mobile uses sprints 3g so really i am using sprint, but not paying the high price, plus my virgin mobile is pay as you go.

I've been with Verizon before they were Verizon....1993....bag-phone....CellularOne, GTECellular and then Verizon. Their network coverage is, by-far, the best. I have a Droid X with Verizon. When I decided to get a Galaxy Tab, it was a no-brainer.....I got one from T-Mobile.

The reasons....

- The best memory configuration - 2G & 14G Internal with ext micro-SD slot
- Ability to use Bluetooth keyboard & mouse
- Black rear case (I can't get with that white one)
- Got a decent price...$349.00 with a 2-year contract

I'm not wild about their 3G (or should I say, Edge at my home) network. Compared to Verizon in my area, it's pretty lame. Most of the time, I'm on WiFi at home or work. I was surprised to find that I could stream video with the Slingplayer app when on Edge. There's some pixilation but I am able to get a fairly stable connection.

This is exactly what I needed in front of me before I went and picked my tab. I have to agree that the 2 gigabyte plan on sprint does seen the best. Since I do not have any other device on t mobile the 5 gigabyte plan actually costs me 50 dollars a month.

I just checked my usage and. 2 gigabytes probably wouldn't be enough since I use a lot of sling player. That makes me feel a little better about going with t mobile. Also the 5 gigabyte plan with t mobile is a soft cap. It's actually unlimited but they throttle you after 5 gigabytes.

I had the Sprint Galaxy Tab. While I enjoyed/liked the Tab I decided to return it when I found that Tmobile version Galaxy Tab allowed 'ALL' Bluetooth keyboard and mice to connect.

Also the Tmobile 5GB data plan also includes Mobile HotSpot - all for just $10.00 more than the Sprint 2GB data plan.

Just returned the Tab to Sprint tonight - will get the Tmobile Galaxy Tab very soon. Tmobile is currently offering a buy one get one free for the Galaxy Tab.

I'm slowly getting over the fact the US Galaxy Tabs cannot be used as mobile phone out of the box.

T-Mobile

1. it was the first one out
2. cheaper data plan with free mobile hotspot
3. 3.5G, generally faster than 3G configuration on other networks?
4. 16G internal storage
5. i want it on a different network than my phone (palm pre on sprint), so I have more coverage.

I didn't realize the sprint tab can't use Bluetooth keyboards or is it limited to using either the keyboard or the mouse. That will stink cause I just bought a small Bluetooth keyboard. I haven't had time to test it.

Im 99% sure the BOGO deal does not apply to 2 tabs. I believe if you buy a tab you can get any smartphone for free.

I was at Starbucks last night and noticed my tab automatically connected to the hotspot. That is pretty cool.

The Sprint Tab does not have the Bluetooth HID profile and therefore cannot connect to any Bluetooth HID device (which includes 99.9% of the Bluetooth keyboards and mice on the market).

I was able to find one that works - the Freedom Pro Keyboard. It works because it can use either SPP or HID profile (the Tab works with SPP) and comes with its own Android OS driver.

I will check on the details of the BOGO at the Tmobile store tomorrow. I was so excited that the keyboard w/touchpad I smuggled into the Tmobile store actually worked that I did not check the details of the offer because I had to go and box the Sprint Tab up for return.

Thanks for informing us about the auto Hotspot connect - that is awesome news....

What is funny is my device will pair w/ the keyboard and I give authorization but it won't type anything into the text boxes. This really stinks that is will not work. Thanks alot sprint.

My company is a Verizon shop so I was able to get mine from VZ.
I also got one from AT&T to play with. The problem with AT&T's Android (phones/tablets) is that they have it locked down so you can't install non-market apps. You can use the Side Loading Wonder Machine from this site, but it's a pain.

With the VZ Tab, I was able to root it and install anything I want. The AT&T version, not so much.

I do love the form factor of the Tab. I have iPads at home and work, the Tab is so much more portable. The iPad, more like a notebook.

I forgot about unauthorized apps on at&t. That does suck.

Guys, not sure if you are aware but you can use SuperOneClick to get past AT&Ts restriction. The tool specifically has a button to enable non market Apps. I too had been using Sideload wonder machine but no longer have to. If you use Superoneclick it will enable the option but will not show it to you in the menu options as on a T-Mobile or Verizon tab. However simply try to install something from an SD card or direct off a link on a site and you will see it indeed works.
