To all of those who are considering drilling the case to clear up this issue, you may not have to drill a hole in the bumper frame. I was reading the reviews for the Neo Hybrid case on Amazon, and I saw a post in which the user stated they cut a small hole in the absorption interior and that resolved the issue. So I used a razor and cut a small hole in the absorption interior, but I did not drill a hole in the bumper frame. I made a few test calls and the issue is resolved, people said they could hear me loud and clear, where previously they could not. So if you are thinking about drilling the frame, cut a hole in the interior first, it might work.

I'm not happy about having to cut my case, but I figured this would be easier than returning it. I'm interested in knowing if this solution works for anyone else.

Also, I have the official Samsung protective case (blue color) coming in a few days, and I want to know if the same microphone problem is present. If anyone has this case please let me know if there are any issues.

It doesn't, that's what I meant in my previous posts. This case has a larger opening instead of a pinhole in the left. The right one, though, is still a perfectly aligned pinhole. That's why I'm thinking that different Note 4 models have this particular component in a slightly different position, which Samsung is accommodating for with a longer cutout but the case manufacturers are not. Don't know, but yeah, you won't have that issue with the official case (I have the blue one, too, it's very nice!)

It's interesting... I just got the official Samsung one and while it has a precise pinhole on the right side, it has a long cutout for the left one. Maybe the microphone positions for different carriers is different?

Here's the Spigen Capsule side by side with the Samsung protective cover -- you can see the elongated microphone hole on the Samsung cover:

I got this Spigen Wallet from Amazon; it was delivered the Oct 23rd and love it. I will use it most of the time especially when I wear a suit or jacket. I'm waiting on the Spigen Tough Armor which I will get on Oct 30th.

I am sure it is being manufactured at Sammy that way. They would have known the dims for the radio tray they had to incorporate into the Verizon version early on and would have been designing the location for it, the antenna traces....everything very early in the process. I should note that I am just guessing that it is the radio tray, type and size and what it does to the antenna traces that forced the move on the mic hole. Not only have they moved the mic hole but there is a tunnel up to the mic from the hole to help get your voice up there. So that means they really had to move that mic into a different location in the design.

I just emailed Spigen about my Neo Hybrid holes not lining up. I don't want to go drilling holes in a brand new case to make it operate like it should have in the first place. Maybe they are aware of the issue? Lets see what they say.............

I tried to return my case to amazon but because I placed my order over 30 days ago (yay for ordering early) my return window has passed even though I didnt get the case till last monday. I emailed Spigen to see if they will help. I guess I wont be ordering phone cases ahead of time anymore.....

If you have a Spigen case, look at the bottom two holes to the side of your charging port and you'll see that the spacing is not right. With the case on, the microphone is not able to pick up my voice. I have the Neo-Hybrid, I'd be interested in hearing from those of you with other Spigen cases.

Are there any Cases I can purchase similar to the Neo-Hybrid I can purchase that do not cover the mic on the Verizon Gnote4? I do not like bulky cases like Otterbox or the wallet cases.

Here you can see the obvious mismatching of microphone holes on the bottom of the Verizon version. Case is the Spigen Tough Armor and Verizon Black N4. I haven't had any issues with callers not being able to hear me nor have I had any issues with the phone and its respective voice recognition programs like Google NOW etc.

Well I have ran into my first issue that I must blame on the case itself. While talking on the phone, if my hands move around on the case, the caller can hear that clear as day on their end and this I must attribute to the misaligned microphone holes sadly.

Spigen seems to be getting sloppy as of late. I have two cases. The official Samsung case and the otterbox defender. Both line up perfectly. I have the Verizon variation.

Not to be argumentative but no case that wraps around the bottom of the N4 housing that only has a hole for the left side mic will match up perfectly with both variants of the N4. The only way to do that is to have an oblong or elongated mic hole left side.
