What case if any have you ordered already?

I'm going to get a 3RDi Galleries case. I have one for my iPhone and my daughter has one for her S5. They are pretty nice looking and adds pretty good protection. I've dropped my phone a few times with it, almost every time it landed on a corner. No cracks or even marks on the phone.

The problem is that you cannot get Samsung cases from its website. They are only available at the local kiosks and store here in Hawaii.

Got these in today. Cases are nice and thin and have a good grip to them. If only I had my S8+ for them now....

Will these stay closed if dropped, to protect screen.?

Regarding the official Samsung flip case.... I suppose the main thing to say is that these cases aren't exactly the safest cases if you're really worried about dropping your phone. The cover might open or not, depending upon how your phone would fall -- I doubt there is any mechanism to "lock" the case closed. So, it should help, but only to a certain extent.

I got the Spigen rugged armor case. I got 2 for my Note7. One was this one and basically only used this after I put it on. It's a very slim fit that probably doesn't offer much protection, but feels better in the hand and less slippery that some of the hybrid cases.

Me too Spigen rugged armor
Been using them for a couple of years with my note phones
Slim profile, decent protection, don't scratch or break when they fall like the neo hybrid

I was going to get the clear case with the kick stand such as yours, but I've had many bad experiences with TPU type of cases. In time, they become yellowish. I know its from oil on our hands and what not, but damn... such a nice looking case to show off the awesome phone to become yellow does suck.

Is the defender the heavy duty one, bulky?
How much protection does the screen that's on them give?

Having had a Defender case on all my smartphones, I have never regretted having it as once I had a smartphone tumble down a couple of flights of concrete stairs without any damage.

That said. It does, IMHO, add a little bulk but that differs from person to person but the drop protection is definitely worth it. I am a big guy and can still easily put it in my front pocket.

It doesn't come with a screen protector at the GS8 launch but is rumored to be coming. When I finally get my GS8, I will see how it goes. I am considering a tempered glass protector from Otterbox or Bodyguardz, etc.

None. I likes it BUTT NEKKID...I have really good 3rd party insurance and I hate cases. Frankly, there isn't a case out there than can preserve the aesthetic of the new hardware from Sammy

I preordered the official Samsung S-View Flip Case with kick stand from Amazon, and it already shipped. I should have it before my S8+ arrives on Wednesday. I got it in Orchid Grey to match my phone, of course.

I need to make a decision to either get a cheap case for now or go ahead and splurge on an otterbox. I won't need another case after I get the otterbox. I normally just stick to that one. Decisions decisions. Lol

I'd get the Defender.

Im sticking with the screen naked on the Defender. I don't like the tempered glass out there and like the feel of the naked screen better. I don't keep keys in the same pocket as the phone so I'm not worried about the screen.
