Except for the blue S3, every phone I owned was black. Went with black again with note 4, but ended up cancelling service with my old provider and returned the phone within 14 days. Now I'm back with the Note 4 on my new carrier and got the White. Just to change things up. Also the White Note 4 was the first white phone that really appealed to me.

I hear your realistic concern. I had my 'white' Note 2 for 2 years and kept it mostly naked.... It is still in perfect condition and really held up well. My S pen showed the most wear, but I used it as I do on my Note 4, everyday! I love the white! Good luck with yours!
